In accordance with the Law in Scotland it is now illegal to permit smoking in covered public places. This means that there is no smoking in the public bar, restaurant, function suite, conference rooms, hotel bedrooms, toilets or corridors by all customers or any member of staff.

The Smoking, Health and Social Care (Scotland) Bill was introduced to Parliament on December 17, 2004, formally proposing that smoking should be banned in enclosed public places such as workplaces, pubs and restaurants. The Bill was approved by MSPs on June 30, 2005, by a majority of 97 to 17 with one abstention. It received Royal Assent on August 5, 2005, and the new Act came into force on March 26, 2006. |

To accommodate those that wish to smoke we have an external covered smoking area which meets the requirements laid down in the Smoking, Health and Social Care (Scotland) Bill. The shelter is fully covered with lighting, seating, ash trays, bins and 2kw infra red heating. The lighting and heating are controlled by a timer switch operated by customers who wish to use this facility.
